Transforming Therapy
Working from a humanistic, person centred approach we are passionate about how beneficial play therapy can be for children through to adults in working through difficulties resulting from life events, traumatic experiences or mental health difficulties. It gives individuals a voice where words may not be found.
Our therapy is trauma informed meaning that therapy is based upon knowledge and understanding of how trauma affects the brain and its development from pre birth through to adulthood. We understand how trauma effects people’s lives and their needs and so this is considered in the way therapy is delivered.
Some areas where play therapy may be able to help are low self esteem, bullying and social difficulties, adjustment to change, divorce, separation and grief, anxiety and depression, trauma and loss, anger, fear, sadness and shyness, aggression and acting out behaviours, self harm, pre-birth and birth trauma, chronic illness/ hospitalisation/surgery, ADD and ADHD,
